DTN WEEKLY ROUND UP: Business held off until Friday again last week, with
Northern dressed deals at $375 to mostly $380, about $3 lower than the prior
week's weighted average, basis Nebraska. Southern live trade had a range of
$240 to $242, mostly $240, $4 lower than the previous week's weighted
averages. According to Thursday's Daily Direct Slaughter Cattle Negotiated
Purchase Summary reports the weekly accumulated weighted averages were
recorded as: KS $No Test($243.75); NE $376.00($382.78); TX $No Test($244.32);
IA $375.00($382.00); CO was not available due to confidentiality. (the prior
week's weighted averages are listed in parentheses). Due to the late week
trade some of these averages were not available or are not fully accurate. It
will be interesting to see just where they land when the summaries are
released a little later this morning.

The Friday afternoon Daily Direct Slaughter Cattle report lists week-to-date
trade volume totals as: KS 835; NE 24,760; TX 687; IA 13,705; and CO not
available due to confidentiality. The bulk of sales in Kansas and Texas took
place after the Mandatory cutoff, we will have to see just how many cattle
moved when summaries come out. According to the Daily Livestock and Poultry
Slaughter Report, Friday's slaughter totaled 88,000 head, 1,000 less than the
prior week, and 20,000 lower than a year ago. There was no kill planned for
Saturday. The weekly total was 521,000 head, 2,000 more than the previous
week, but down 58,000 from 2025. The weekly average for boxed beef cutouts
and boxed beef cuts: choice $386.41(+9.69), select $379.34(+10.84), with an
average choice/select spread of $7.07(-1.15), and a total load count
including cuts, trimmings, and grinds of 417(-18), (Changes from the prior
week are listed in parentheses).

For the week ending February 28, 2026, Imported Beef Passed for Entry in the
U.S. totaled 51,036, 106.61% of the previous week and 95.68% of the 4-week
average.

DTN MORNING COMMENTS: This Monday morning looks to be a typically quiet
start to the week, with both buyers and sellers busy taking inventory and
preparing for the week ahead. Bids and asking prices have yet to be
established, and if the trend of the last couple of weeks continues,
significant trade volume will be delayed until much later in the week. Beef
cutouts are expected to be mixed with light box movement. Live cattle futures
are sharply lower, while feeder issues are locked mostly limit down at this
time, due in part to news that employees at the JBS, Greeley, CO plant will
likely as early as March 16.

NOTE: Price and volume information listed on this page is supplied by DTN
subscribers in the interest of general cash market awareness. All cattle
feeding subscribers are encouraged to report sales in a timely fashion, to
compensate for the systematic delays of mandatory reporting. While all
transactions will be posted on an anonymous basis, callers are required to
identify themselves and the location of the actual sales. DTN believes this
data to be accurate but cannot guarantee its specific reliability or whether
it fairly represents the larger cash market.

Feedlots are encouraged to call DTN with any cattle sales, at
1-402-461-3561. All sales will be listed anonymously and organized by state.
A weekly summary of this data will be posted on the Weekly Cattle Sales
Reported to DTN page and will be left up for the entire week for reference
purposes.
